When you choose Capitol City Speech Therapy, an evaluation is completed to diagnose a speech or language disorder and identify strengths and weaknesses. For each patient, an individualized treatment plan is developed with input from the patient, family members and therapist. Our philosophy is centered around using a "coaching approach" where family, friends, and caregivers are trained to help utilize new skills during daily activities.

 

Treatment for children is provided during fun and interesting activities such as crafts, music and play. Therapists strive to be creative and imaginative during their speech and language treatment sessions to engage each child. Parents and siblings are encouraged to participate in each session and therapists will teach caregivers skills to use at home. 

 

Adults are treated in a quiet and confidential manner and are active participants in developing their treatment goals. Family members and friends are strongly encouraged to participate in treatment sessions to facilitate a patient's goals in daily activities.
